The NAACP was founded on February 12, 1909

You have probably heard of the NAACP, America’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, at some point in your life. If you’re not already familiar with its founding, or how it grew from an earlier organization, you can learn more about that group, which was called the Niagara Movement.
